Sweep: No-Guess Minesweeper · Last updated 1 September 2026

Short version: the app has no accounts and does not identify you. Your boards, statistics and streaks stay on your device. The app can also send anonymous counts of how the game is used — never your name, your location, or anything that points back to you. In the EU, the UK and Switzerland we ask before sending anything; everywhere else it is on by default and there is a switch in Settings.

1. Who we are

Sweep: No-Guess Minesweeper is published by GadGames. Contact: support@tug.today.

2. Information we collect

Nothing that identifies you. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or location, there is no way to create an account, and no advertising identifier is requested. What we do receive is described in section 5.

The app stores the following only on your device, using the operating system's normal app storage: your board in progress, statistics, streaks and achievements, and your settings. We cannot see any of it.

3. Purchases

There is one optional purchase, made once. It unlocks extra themes and a custom board builder; no part of any puzzle is behind it. There is no currency, no subscription and no consumable of any kind.

The purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or receive your payment details. The store tells the app whether a purchase completed, so that it can unlock what you paid for, and reports sales to us only as aggregate figures that identify nobody.

Restoring a purchase asks the store whether your account owns it. That exchange is between your device and the store; no account with us is created or needed.

4. Advertising

The app contains no advertising. There is no advertising SDK in it, no advertising identifier is requested, and nothing about you is shared with any advertising network.

If that ever changes, this page will be updated before the version that changes it is released.

5. Anonymous usage data

To learn which difficulties are graded wrong, where people put a board down, and whether the no-guess promise is actually landing, the app can send a small set of anonymous events: the app being opened, a board being started, cleared, lost or abandoned along with its difficulty and how long it took, a hint being taken and which rule it explained, a step onto a mine being taken back, the unlock screen being opened, and a purchase or restore completing.

These events do not identify you. They carry a random string created on your device the first time the app runs. It is not your Apple ID or Google account, not your advertising identifier, and not derived from your hardware — it exists only so that sixty people clearing one board each can be told apart from one person clearing sixty. Deleting the app destroys it, and reinstalling produces a new one that cannot be connected to the old.

The events are processed on our behalf by PostHog, which stores them without building any profile of a person. Your device's network address is visible to them in the moment of the request, as it is to any web server; for this app the location fields derived from it are stripped before storage, and no location is kept.

6. Your choice, and how it differs by country

In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, we ask first. The app shows a plain question the first time you open it, with "yes" and "no" given equal weight and neither pre-selected. Nothing is recorded or sent unless you choose yes. The app decides whether to ask from your device's own language and region settings — no network request and no location lookup is involved, and the check errs towards asking.

Everywhere else it is on by default, and Settings → About → "Share anonymous usage data" turns it off.

Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing, and it is retroactive. Turning the switch off stops the recording, deletes anything still waiting to be sent, and discards the random string described in section 5 — so a later change of mind starts a new anonymous install rather than resuming the old one.

7. Children

The app is suitable for all ages. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, and the anonymous usage data in section 5 is not personal information and cannot be traced to a child or to anyone else.

8. Keeping and deleting data

Everything you play — progress, statistics, streaks, achievements and settings — is held only on your device, so deleting the app deletes it. There is no account to close. The app also offers "Reset all progress" in Settings. The anonymous usage events in section 5 are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the game; because nothing in them identifies you, they cannot be traced back to a particular person or removed on request. If you would rather send none at all, switch the setting off.

9. Your rights

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about you: no account, no contact details, and no identifier that points to you. There is therefore nothing for us to produce or erase. If you would like this confirmed in writing, email us and we will reply.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and any change that affects what the app does will be published before the version that makes the change is released.
